Titans Vs Olympian Gods

The 12 Olympians achieved their supremacy over the older primeval gods when they were victorious in the Battle of the Titans. According to mythology and the legend in the Greek Creation Myth the gods and goddesses of ancient Greece consisted of three major groups and generations. During the war, all of the Titanides (female Titans) and some Titans remained neutral, sucha as Oceanus, Themis and Helios. The Titans preceded the Twelve Olympians, but were eventually overthrown by them, led by Zeus, in the Titanomachy ('War of the Titans'), and were imprisoned in Tartarus, the depths of the underworld.
